How the process works with Migrara

Case analysis
You describe your situation: nationality, where you are today, your family or professional ties and what you want to do in Brazil. We match that against the Migration Law (Lei 13.445/2017) and identify the legal grounds that apply to you, not to a generic case.
A checklist for your case
You receive the exact list of documents for your situation, showing which ones need an apostille, which need a sworn translation (tradução juramentada) and which have a short validity period and should therefore be issued last.
Assembly and filing
We review every document before it goes in, because a wrong document at filing means an official request for correction and months lost. The application is registered in the official system and you receive the case number.
Follow-up through to the CRNM
We monitor progress, answer any request raised by the authority and guide you through the biometrics appointment and the collection of your Carteira de Registro Nacional Migratório.

Frequent questions about immigrating to Brazil
Do I need a visa to live in Brazil?
It depends on where you are. If you are still abroad, in most cases you need a temporary visa issued by a Brazilian consulate. If you are already in Brazil, you can apply for a residence permit directly to the Polícia Federal, without leaving the country, on several of the grounds set out in Lei 13.445/2017.
What is the CRNM?
The Carteira de Registro Nacional Migratório is the identity document of the immigrant in Brazil. It proves that your residence is regular and it is required to open a bank account, sign an employment contract, obtain a permanent CPF and use public services.
How long does a residence permit case take?
The timeline varies with the legal grounds, the Polícia Federal unit and the quality of the documents filed. Cases filed complete and correct the first time move significantly faster, because they raise no request for correction. In the analysis of your case we give a realistic estimate for your situation.
My visa or my residence has expired. Is there still a solution?
Most of the time, yes. The Migration Law provides routes to regularize, and an irregular stay generally means an administrative fine, not automatic deportation. The most common mistake is letting time pass, because some alternatives close. Get advice as soon as you notice the expiry.
